Paths, Paving & Terraces

Hard Landscaping and Construction

DESIGN AND BUILD

All hard surfaces are either man-made or natural materials, chosen for appearance, durability and cost. It’s good to use local materials such as handmade bricks, reclaimed stone or newly quarried limestone or sandstone. Or it may be to follow a theme, perhaps contemporary using diamond cut polished sandstone or limestone.

Steps and Terraces require hard surfaces, however where there are changes in level and curved shapes, flexible surfaces may be more appropriate such as chippings, gravel, cobbles, or bricks laid on a sand base. These surfaces are also water permeable minimising run-off and more environmentally friendly.
