PROFESSIONAL SOLAR LIGHTS – THE ‘SOLAMON’ RANGE
This professional pedestal solar light has high capacity, long life batteries to last several years, not to be confused with lower cost solar lighting which do not usually last much longer than a season. The batteries are replaceable being the long life Lithium Ion rechargeable batteries that have no memory effect which means they will always retain a full charge unlike Nickel Cadmium batteries that will rapidly lose their storage ability. The litium ion batteries are the same batteries as used in the latest high power rechargeable drills.
The light is bright enough to be a useful safety feature in the garden or on driveway pillars, and is around 10 times as bright as a budget solar lights which often only have 1 low power LED. It will automatically switch on when it gets dark and will stay on all night until dawn or until the no battery life remains. If fully charged, it should remain on all night. After 6 hours of full brightness, the LEDs then reduce to 30% brightnes to ensure long lasting battery life.

The highly sensitive large solar panels will charge on most days but on the cloudiest and wet of days in winter, there may be insufficient light to totally re-charge the batteries. It may take up to 2 days of bright weather to fully re-charge the batteries. If only partly charged the light will only stay on a for a few hours.
Colour Temperature
The colour temperature of a lamp is a measure of the “warmth” or “coldness” of the light that it produces. Lamps that produce a “warm” or “yellowish” light (for example the sodium lamps used for street lighting which appear orange) have a low colour temperature. Lamps producing a pure white or bluish tinged light have a higher colour temperature.
Colour temperature is measured in degrees Kelvin (K) and is defined as “the temperature of a black body having the same colour appearance as the type of lamp being considered”.
