Robomow – Frequently Asked Questions
Why should I choose Robomow over other robotic mowers?
Robotic Lawn mowing is the primary focus of our company, and we have over 20 years of experience in the field. The following unique product features and advantages are what separate us from our competitors:
- Heavy-duty steel blades and a robust, holistic design.
- Wider cutting widths, resulting in Robomow spending less time on your lawn.
- Our unique Edging mode – the only robotic mower that cuts beyond its wheel.
Is Robomow suitable for my lawn?
In general, Robomow is suitable for any lawn shape and size that a walk-behind mower or sit-on mower can mow.
What if I have slopes in my lawn? Can Robomow handle them?
Robomow RS and RC models can mow areas inside the working area that slope up to 20 degrees or 36% (36 cm rise per 1m). The illustration below provides more detail on how Robomow handles slopes. RX models can mow slopes of up to 8.5 degrees/15%.
If I buy Robomow, what other equipment needs to be purchased?
In most cases no other equipment needs to be purchased, since Robomow comes fully equipped with everything required for its operation*. In some cases, when you need to define a Separated Zone, you may need an additional Base Station or Perimeter Switch, which are available as accessories. How does Robomow work?
Robomow is a robotic lawnmower designed to mow and maintain your lawn on its own. Robomow requires a simple one-time installation of a base station and a perimeter wire, which will mark the lawn boundaries. The perimeter wire is flush at the ground level, and it will get covered by grass within a few weeks. Robomow recognizes the perimeter wire using special sensors and makes sure to always stay inside the designated area. Robomow will automatically mow the lawn, and continuously alternates between mowing and charging. It independently leaves the Base Station* and cuts the lawn by moving around it in a random pattern, until the entire area is evenly cut.
*The RX12u model requires a press on the GO button to leave the Base Station. Once this is done, it will cut the lawn and return automatically to the Base Station to recharge, just like all other Robomow models.
What warranty is included with Robomow RS models?
Robomow provides the basic 2-year warranty. Pro models have a three-year warranty.
Third-year warranty upon registration, within 90 days from the first operation, for labor and parts only. Shipment excluded
Does the Robomow App work with every Robomow model?
The Robomow App is downloadable for free on compatible iOS and Android devices. It supports all Robomow RC and RS models (excluding the RS630 model produced in 2013) and all RX models (excluding RX12u). The Robomow App also does not support the older RM and RL Robomow models.
RX models are currently compatible with Android only.
Is there any installation required with Robomow?
Yes. In order for Robomow to operate in your lawn, a Perimeter Wire must be installed around the entire lawn, and around protected areas within the lawn area. Proper installation of the Perimeter Wire is critical for the quality and reliability of Robomow’s operation. You can hire a professional installation service (recommended) or do the installation yourself. For more information about professional installation services, please call us on 01732 867 887.
