A variety of stunning and highly durable IP65 in-ground spot lights or ‘spike lights’ are available from Platts Horticulture. High specification materials have been used including marine grade stainless steel (316), real copper, and anodised aluminium in contemporary finishes such as black, brass & titanium, white and satin silver.

One factor that sets Platts Horticulture spotlights apart is that, unlike many others on the market, these spike lights are designed to accommodate low energy LED GU10 or MR16 lamps with a longer body shape, as well as standard halogen lamps. Platts Horticulture recommend the use of low energy LED lamps in order to save up to 90% energy and make considerable financial savings on energy bills. The lifespan of an LED lamp is much longer than a standard halogen lamp, which means time and money spent on maintenance is also cut down.

The ‘Smartspike 60’ are highly weather resistant 60mm diameter spotlights supplied with a ground spike. They are ideal for use in any garden or outdoor space to highlight plants, trees, garden borders and specific features such as statues, as well as being able to integrate with areas of taller planting and shrubs. These spikelights are available in a choice of marine grade stainless steel (316), real copper, or anodised aluminium with a number of contemporary finishes. Anodised aluminium versions are especially suited for use in coastal environments as the anodised finish is extremely resistant to salt corrosion and oxidisation. Extension rods are available for most models for extra height. All models have a versatile adjustable neck and are able to accommodate longer length LED bulbs.
